He Lives!

easter 2011 -
full of sweet memories,
and most importantly,
spirit-filled church services
to honor and lift up Jesus!

because Jesus lives,
life is truly worth living.

photos were taken after church -
those kiddos are growing too fast.

and my mother dearest took this photo
for me on my front porch.

the porch is a work in progress right now...
and related to "in progress" - we have revival this week.
expecting good things! :)

bethany: SR photos

From the barn (literally) to downtown,
Bethany and I have met for two sessions this month.
Her senior portraits are super cute! She is so photogenic.
And she doesn't mind trying my ideas.
I have quite a few more to edit -
but, I chose the first two below as a "location" reference.

Besides Bethany's photos, I have a sibling "barn shoot" that I am working on.
Daniel and I have a wedding to shoot Friday night.
I have an engagement session Saturday.
(which will give me 4 appointments in this week only)
A few more sessions are pending - engagement/senior/family.
Two weddings are booked for later this year.
Looks like (Lord willing, if plans work out) - that my schedule is full.

Reflection moment here -
I look back over photos I have taken and can see considerable progress.
I have SO MUCH to learn, but it is exciting when I leave a session
knowing that my prayers were answered for a good outcome.

I am loving using my 50mm - the up-close shots with pretty eyes are my favorites. =)

the girls

a highlight from last week....
spending time with "the girls"
for my january birthday. :)

it's not the food that makes it special...
it's not the gifts that make me smile...
just simple moments - sharing, laughing, learning -
that makes this a favorite tradition.

a week off

In a "between jobs" transition, I have a week off from work.
Fabulous right?
It sounds like it.
Except it is not a vacation.
I am trying to organize, declutter, finish moving stuff to my house
from my parent's house, and work on my super, way-too-long, dreaded "to-do" list.
I want to get caught up with what I "absolutely have" to do -
learn to let go of some things, and keep my priorities in order.

On that note - midnight blogging is not good.
So I am off to focus on the sleep priority.

* I want to remember that life is too short -
remember to share love, reach out to others,
and remember "them."
Today would be a day to relay a birthday message.
Sad memories...Uncle Jerry is missed.
