[The title for this blog is credited to Rev. GV from the title of Sunday morning's sermon, March 1, 2009, at my home church .]
I have a collection started with sermon and class notes. Some of the notes I have are filled with insightful, inspired words that are encouraging for me personally and I plan to start sharing them through my blog. I thought about posting a blog in one of the social forums (i.e. Bebo, MySpace, Facebook), but I decided to write my blogs in a place where I could post a link from these sites.
Back to my blog title...the text for this message came from Hebrews 12:1,2.
(Here's a link if you want to read this familiar scripture reference: http://bibledatabase.net/html/kjv/hebrews_12.html . By the way, I love on-line references! It is so convenient to pull this up when I need scriptures typed for church activities, etc. )
I write my sermon notes in bullet-form; it might seem disjointed, but this blog will definitely fall under the "work in progress" category. On to my points....
* It is a race; it is a fight; it is a journey to Heaven.
* You have to do more than just "want to go to Heaven" - you have to make preparation.
* The devil wants to hinder everyone from finding salvation.
* The devil will try to keep you from enduring - keep you from making a safe run home.
* Anything that is good - you will have to work for it.
* If you are going to make it to Heaven, you are going to have to work for it; "reach" God for yourself. It is personal!!
* Whatever it takes, Run On!
